[Important] Notice of Restrictions on Bird Exhibits. From: October 17, 2024.
The first outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza was confirmed at a poultry farm in Hokkaido on October 17, 2024, and another outbreak was confirmed at a poultry farm in Izumi City, Kagoshima Prefecture on November 20, 2024.
So, the following measures will be implemented for the exhibition of birds at Nagasaki Bio-Park and Pet Animal World (PAW) in accordance with our own quarantine guidelines.
Cancellation of bird exhibit interaction, etc.
Entry to the flamingo exhibit yard is restricted. Please use the turnaround route outside the exhibit yard.
Some birds, such as ducks, are not exhibited and are quarantined indoors.
Petting birds (parakeets, parrots, etc.) in the PAW may be suspended depending on the situation.
Installation of Disinfectant Mats
Disinfectant-impregnated mats have been installed in the entrance and exit areas.
We ask all visitors to disinfect their feet.
Disinfection of Avian Exhibit Yards
All avian exhibit yards will be disinfected weekly.
The measures may be strengthened or cancelled without prior notice depending on information and guidance from the relevant authorities. We ask for the understanding of all visitors to the park. Any changes to the content of the countermeasures will be announced on this site as needed.
